St. Philomena
Little is known about St. Philomena. What is knows is vague but profound. It is said that the remains of a young girl, around age 13, were discovered in May 1802 in the Catacombs of Priscilla. The tomb bore an inscription of “Peace to you, Philomena” Her remains were moved and 1805 and became the focus of devotion and eventually miracles. Several miracles were attributed to Philomena, including the healing of Venerable Pauline Jaricot.
Her feast day is August 11. She is the patron of children, youth, babies, priests and lost causes.
